Inquiry privacy notice

Last updated 13 July 2026 · notice version 2026-07-13

What the inquiry form processes

When you send a yacht inquiry, Moorine processes:

  • your first and last name, email address and/or phone number, and message;
  • whether your request concerns a sale or charter, plus the yacht and active dealer listing used for routing;
  • the page URL, referring page, and any standard UTM campaign values present in the URL;
  • the time and version of your required privacy-notice acknowledgement; and
  • a pseudonymous rate-limit key derived from your IP address using a server-side secret. The inquiry and rate-limit tables do not intentionally store the raw IP address, although infrastructure providers may process it in ordinary security or access logs.

Why it is processed

The data is used to validate the request, prevent abuse, route it to an active listing that accepts inquiries, create a lead record for the relevant dealer, and enable that dealer or broker to respond. The required checkbox acknowledges this processing; it is not consent to receive unrelated marketing.

Privacy-friendly site analytics

Moorine uses a self-hosted Umami instance to understand aggregate site usage and product interactions such as clicking a trial link, applying catalog filters, or successfully sending an inquiry. The tracker does not use cookies, does not receive inquiry contact details, removes URL fragments and query parameters other than standard campaign attribution fields (UTM source, medium, campaign, term, and content), and respects your browser's Do Not Track setting. It processes the page path, referrer, browser and device information, approximate location, and non-personal event properties such as the inquiry type or yacht listing slug.

Who can receive it

The inquiry is made available to the dealer responsible for the selected active listing and, where applicable, its assigned broker. Moorine's hosting, database, and operational service providers may process data only as needed to run and secure the product. Moorine does not use the inquiry checkbox to enroll you in marketing.

Third-party listing content

In addition to information you provide, Moorine may compile publicly available yacht listing data — specifications, pricing, and images — from dealer websites to populate the catalog during the early access phase. This data concerns vessels and dealer businesses, not you personally. If you are a dealer and wish to have your listing data corrected, transferred to your control, or removed, see the listing content terms or contact hello@moorine.com.

Retention and choices

In the current alpha, inquiry and notification records remain until an authorized operator or dealer deletes them; a final production retention period has not yet been configured. Expired pseudonymous rate-limit windows are eligible for automated cleanup. The production operator must publish and enforce a defined retention schedule before accepting live customer data.

Depending on the law that applies to the production operator, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. To ask about an inquiry or exercise an applicable right, contact hello@moorine.com and identify the yacht concerned. Identity verification may be required before a request is completed.
